The Department of Justice is preparing for a rare sit-down with Ghislaine Maxwell, as federal investigators seek new leads tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal network.
In a surprising shift, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced Tuesday that the FBI and DOJ are eager to hear what Maxwell can reveal about others who were allegedly involved. “We would like to know anything Maxwell has to offer about uncharged third parties who participated in Epstein’s criminal enterprise,” Blanche stated. He confirmed officials have contacted her legal team and a meeting is expected “in the coming days.”
David Oscar Markus, Maxwell’s attorney, told CNN that conversations with the DOJ are ongoing.
“We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth in this case,” he added.
Maxwell, a former British socialite, is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in recruiting and abusing underage girls alongside Epstein. Her potential cooperation marks a dramatic pivot from the Justice Department’s recent stance. Earlier this month, the DOJ claimed they had found no evidence to charge additional individuals and dismissed rumors of a client list.
This latest twist comes as public scrutiny over the Epstein case continues to grow. Questions remain about the sealed documents and whether the full scope of his connections will ever be disclosed.
Meanwhile, Mark Epstein continues to push the theory that his brother was murdered in custody rather than taking his own life, adding another layer of controversy to a case that refuses to fade.
