A brief fan interaction with Doja Cat took a sharp left turn, and TikToker Pablo Tamayo is now setting the record straight.

Tamayo shared a TikTok last week showing his exchange with the Grammy-winning star. In it, Doja hugged Tamayo, kissed him on the cheek, and even gave him permission to call her “Ami.” He gifted her the white tank top he was wearing, which she seemed to like at the time.
But days later, Doja deleted two Twitter posts blasting the moment.
“Don’t touch me and man handle me when you don’t even f**kin know me,” she wrote. “And he didn’t even know my f**kin name to be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy.” She also claimed she tossed “that musty a** shirt away.”
Tamayo didn’t hold back in his response. He sarcastically said he discarded a shirt from Doja’s 2023 Spotify engagement, and later shared a TikTok reflecting on the encounter.
“She said, ‘I want one right now,’ and I said, ‘Oh, I can give this one to you,’” he recalled. “I’m gay, I would never want to make her feel uncomfortable. She’s so iconic!”
Still, he took ownership: “If I was being too nice or touchy, I take full accountability.”
While Tamayo doesn’t think the incident was staged, he admitted, “This just shows me I guess that everyone’s not who they say in person.”
Doja has previously spoken out against parasocial fan behavior. Therefore, she may soon refrain from all meet-and-greets following this messy misunderstanding.
