Dolly Parton suggests that Beyoncé may have recorded a rendition of “Jolene” for her forthcoming country album, “Act II.”
During an interview with Knox News, Dolly unveiled that her renowned track “Jolene” could potentially appear on Beyoncé’s upcoming country album. Responding to inquiries about Beyoncé possibly covering her classic song, the 78-year-old country icon said, “Well, I think she has! I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that.”
Additionally, Parton says that she has maintained communication with Beyoncé over the years.
“We’ve kind of sent messages back and forth through the years. And she and her mother were like fans. I was always touched that they were fans. I always thought she was great,” Dolly added.
Parton praised Beyoncé for her single “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which debuted during the 2024 Super Bowl and topped the Hot Country chart, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to reach No. 1 in the genre.
“I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album,” Dolly wrote on Instagram. “So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single.”
