The suspect accused of shooting Young Dolph didn’t cover up his tracks. In fact, he mixed his music career with the alleged murder he committed.
His whole mixup perhaps helped investigators with the needed clues to connect him to the case.
On Wednesday, authorities released information on 23-year-old Justin Johnson, saying he is wanted for murdering Dolph.
Johnson is a Memphis-area rapper who also goes by the name Straight Drop.
He released his music video for the song “Going Straight In” on November 21, 2021, and that is when fans made a connection, TMZ reported.
Shortly after Dolph was killed, detectives were able to track down the getaway car, which was a grey Mercedes, to a Memphis-area home.
It was the same home Johnson used as the backdrop to his “Going Straight In” music video.
Dolph was fatally shot on November 17, which means that the music video was posted to YouTube after his passing.
Johnson is on the TBI Most Wanted list and is considered armed and dangerous. There is a $15,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
