Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is opening up about losing consciousness after he was hit during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals: “I couldn’t tell what was going on.”
The recent on-field injuries for 24-year-old Dolphins star Tua Tagovailoa have made headlines back-to-back, even catching the attention of concussions doctor Bennett Omalu who urged Tagovailoa to quit his football career due to the risk of damaging himself more.
On Wednesday, the baller shared with reporters all he can remember from being tackled. “I wouldn’t say it was scary for me at the time because there was a point where I was unconscious, said Tagovailoa, describing the hit. “I couldn’t tell what was going on.”
He continued: “There was a point I was unconscious. I remember the entire night up until the point I got tackled. I don’t remember being carted off. I do remember some things from the ambulance and the hospital.”
The NFL and the NFL Players Association launched an investigation into Tagovailoa’s on-field incidents related to his concussions, and so far, they say they haven’t found any violation of the league’s protocols surrounding concussions.
