Donald Trump and Kamala Harris Have Agreed To Debate On ABC

After much back-and-forth, Donald Trump has finally settled on a debate date with Kamala Harris. 

During Thursday’s press conference at Mar-A-Lago, Trump announced that he would face off with Harris on September 10th.  The debate will be held on ABC, which Trump initially pushed back against.  The network first offered to host the forum in May when President Joe Biden was still running for re-election.  However, once he passed the baton to Harris, Trump seemingly dodged debating her. 

He then offered to host the event on Fox News, which has historically been a supporter of Trump.  Additionally, the real estate mogul turned politician wanted the debate to occur inside an arena.  The location has not yet been detailed.  Despite ABC confirming that both candidates had agreed to debate on September 10th, Trump stated earlier in the week that he would not show up if Harris refused a September 4th debate on Fox News as well.  During his news conference, he still listed the early September date, as well as September 25th. Therefore, there is still a chance that Trump could back out. 

An insider close to ABC told CNN that their debate would likely be the first, as Harris had not agreed to Trump’s other proposed dates. She addressed the matter on social media, expressing her eagerness to share her policies properly and argue Trump’s. 

“I hear that Donald Trump has finally committed to debating me on September 10.  I look forward to it,” she tweeted.
