Social media platform Twitch has banned President Donald Trump indefinitely from using their site following the attempted coup on Capitol Hill.
“In light of yesterday’s shocking attack on the Capitol, we have disabled President Trump’s Twitch channel,” a Twitch spokesperson said. “Given the current extraordinary circumstances and the President’s incendiary rhetoric, we believe this is a necessary step to protect our community and prevent Twitch from being used to incite further violence.”
Although President Trump’s account is disabled, archived videos and his profile is still available. In June, President Trump was banned from Twitch for hateful conduct.
The ban comes after other social media platforms have disabled President Trump’s access to their sites.
