Former President Donald Trump claims that white people are at the “back of the line” when receiving Covid treatment.
On Saturday, Trump spoke at a rally in Florence, Arizona. The former President made a statement alleging that white people are being discriminated against when getting covid therapeutics.
“The left is now rationing life-saving therapeutics based on race, discriminating against and denigrating. Just denigrating white people to determine who lives and who dies. If you’re white, you don’t get the vaccine, or if you’re white, you don’t get therapeutics. It’s unbelievable to think this. And nobody wants this, Black people don’t want it, white people don’t want it, nobody wants it, “Trump says.

“You get it based on race. In fact, in New York state, if you’re white, you have to go to the back of the line to get medical help. If you’re white, you go right to the back of the line,” he continues.
Trump seems to have based his opinion on an article posted by the Wall Street Journal titled “New York’s Race-Based Preferential Covid Treatments.”
The article states that since there has been a recent shortage of covid tests, New York has guidelines to help allocate them a priority. The guidelines explain how “non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor” because of “longstanding systemic health and social inequities” that could worsen covid symptoms.
However, according to Bloomberg, Hispanic and Black vaccination rates are approximately 10% white.
