Donald Trump has displayed some odd behavior over the last 24 hours, from strange rapid-fire tweets to taking a joyride while being treated for COVID-19. His family usually denies any illness, but sources close to the family told Vanity Fair‘s Gabriel Sherman that they are growing concerned.
Donald Trump Jr. is apparently very upset by his father’s erratic behavior, specifically his drive around Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to wave to his supporters while exposing secret service members to COVID-19.
“Don Jr. thinks Trump is acting crazy,” sources close to the Trump family told the publication.
His oldest son has reached out to Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner, and Eric for help, but they insist the Celebrity-in-Chief is fine.
“Don Jr. has said he wants to stage an intervention, but Jared and Ivanka keep telling Trump how great he’s doing,” a source said. “Don said, ‘I’m not going to be the only one to tell him he’s acting crazy.”
However, one point they all agree on is that Trump’s Monday morning manic, all-caps Twitter rant was worrisome.
“They are all worried,” said a source. “They’ve tried to get him to stop tweeting.”
According to a report by The New York Times, Trump is reportedly taking steroids for COVID-19 treatment that can be mind-altering. His manic Twitter display, coupled with his other erratic behavior, calls into question whether he is fit to carry out his presidential duties at this time.
