As we near closer and closer to election day, one thing is for certain, if Trump isn’t a racist, he’s tethering the line pretty closely.
Donald Trump appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper where Tapper asked Donald about KKK Grand Wizard, David Duke, endorsing him and calling for all white supremacists to vote Trump.
“Just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke,” Trump stated. “I don’t know anything about what you’re talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. I don’t know, did he endorse me? What’s going on? You’re asking me a question about people I know nothing about.”
The CNN host rephrased his question, giving Trump the opportunity to give the correct response. Tapper broke down to the candidate, despite whether Trump is familiar with David Duke, he’s familiar that there are white supremacist groups that may endorse him. Simply put, is Trump willing to condemn them or does he want their support? Trump answers, “Well, I have to look at the group. I don’t know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. If you will send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them.”
How much research could Trump need to do on the Ku Klux Klan? During his campaign Trump has condemned many groups. He’s condemned immigrants (specifically Mexicans), he’s condemned Muslims, he’s condemned Black Lives Matter, he’s condemned Women, but he can’t condemn the KKK because he doesn’t know enough about them.
Watch Trump completely back peddle and stumble when asked about the KKK. It really wasn’t a hard question.
