It seems like the talk of Donald Trump’s 2005 conversation with Billy Bush will reign supreme, for the next couple of weeks until the election takes place. However, many Trump supporters still refuse to hold the Republican presidential nominee responsible for his graphic language towards women. So much so, that many have elected to shift the blame to something much less sensible.
During a CNN recent interview with Katrina Pierson, the national spokesperson for the Trump campaign, host, Carol Costello apparently stopped Pierson in her tracks when she chose to excuse Trump’s crude comments. Instead Pierson, blamed it all on hip hop, HipHopDx reports.
“This rape culture is purported by none other than the entertainment industry, none other than Hip Hop music, which you can hear on local radio stations,” she said. Which seems to everyone’s argument when they refuse to acknowledge the real issue.
Since the release of the tape, Trump has claimed the comments were simply “locker room talk,” however, Angela Rye, Costello’s other guest, pointed out the several other instances when Trump used similar language or behavior, including lawsuits and accusations of discrimination and sexual harassment.
While, some language in ALL music can be hard to digest, that does not excuse the language of a presidential candidate.
