According to reports, Donald Trump has been telling individuals close to him that he expects to be reinstated by August, and his close pals have been saying the same thing. Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, who has frequently covered Trump’s White House, tweeted the news of Trump’s pipe dream on Tuesday morning.
Haberman tweeted, “Trump has been telling a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated by August (no, that isn’t how it works but simply sharing the information).”
Haberman’s tweet was in response to a video published by CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan, which featured interviews with Trump supporters hoping for a Myanmar-style revolution to restore Trump to power.
“It isn’t happening in a vacuum. It is happening as he faced the possibility of an indictment from the Manhattan DA,” Haberman continued in her thread. “But he is not putting out statements about the ‘audits’ in states just for the sake of it. He’s been laser-focused on them, according to several people who’ve spoken with him (as well as WaPo reporting a few weeks ago).”
According to Haberman, Trump is “laser-focused” on election audits in the hopes of overturning states where he lost.
According to Insider, the belief that Trump will be re-elected has “no basis under the Constitution or any legitimate legal framework,” as MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell puts it. Lindell also asserts that in August, he would bring information to the Supreme Court that will persuade them to invalidate the election results.
