Donald Trump Says There Will Be No Stimulus Package Until After He Gets Reelected

Donald Trump made a bold move Tuesday in announcing that he won’t negotiate a new stimulus package until after the November election.

In a thread on Twitter, Trump – who currently has coronavirus – said, “I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business.”

He said that he is rejecting the Democrats proposed $2.4 trillion bailout and said it’s because Nancy Pelosi wants it the money for “poorly run, high crime, Democrat States.” He said the money is in “no way related to COVID-19.”

Trump said that instead of passing a stimulus bill and helping millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet in the pandemic, he will be pushing forward with the Supreme Court nomination of conservative judge Amy Coney Barrett before the election.
“I have asked Mitch McConnell not to delay, but to instead focus full time on approving my outstanding nominee to the United States Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett. Our Economy is doing very well. The Stock Market is at record levels, JOBS, and unemployment, also coming back in record numbers.

“We are leading the World in Economic Recovery, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”

Immediately after the announcement, the stock market dropped.
The Dow swung more than 600 points and closed down 1.3%, or 376 points. According to CNN, the S&P 500 tumbled 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite finished down 1.6%.
