Less than a week in office and Donald Trump has been signing off on several executive orders a day. After signing orders to ban abortion and advance the Dakota Pipeline, Trump has now set his sights on immigration.
Reports say that on Wednesday, Donald Trump is expected to take executive action to restrict entry and implement “extreme vetting” of Muslim immigrants. The new order will limit access to the United States for several refugees and visa holders, primarily from countries like Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Refugees will also be restricted under the new order. The ban will stay in place until the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department can figure out stricter ways to vet refugees. In a nutshell, Trump seeks to decrease the number of refugees who can resettle in the United States and block those from “terror-prone” nations from entering
Trump has also announced that he will be moving forward with building his proposed wall between Mexico and the United States. The wall, according to his plan, will be paid for by United States tax payers with the expectation of being reimbursed by Mexico. Trump plans to sign an executive order on Wednesday, directing federal funds towards efforts to build the wall along the southern border.
