Between last week’s discussion with #KimKardashian and #KanyeWest’s recent public display of love and support for #Trump, the Donald thinks his newfound friendships have boosted his popularity among African Americans.
Sometime during Trump’s conversation with Kim about prison reform, the Celebrity-in-Chief credited the reality star and her husband for his increase in support among blacks. According to Bloomberg, Trump was referring to a Reuters poll where his approval rating rose from 11 percent to 22 percent in one week.
However, that wasn’t the first time Trump gave the Wests the credit for boosting his likeness among African Americans. In fact, back in May, Trump thanked Kanye for his support after the rapper expressed his public love and support for him.
“Kanye West must have some power,” he said at the National Rifle Association’s annual conference. “You probably saw I doubled my African-American poll numbers. We went from 11 to 22 in one week.”

However, what the Celebrity-in-Chief forgot to mention, according to Bloomberg, was that the publication considers the number of African American recorded for the weekly poll is too small to reliably indicate a shift. In addition to that, the data showed an increase among African-American men, not the entire population.
