DoorDash has announced it will begin allowing customers to order alcohol through its application.
DoorDash, an app known for its food delivery services, is opening its market to liquor-loving customers. “Alcohol really presents a win, win, win for all of our audiences,” CEO Tony Xu said on CNBC’s “TechCheck.”
CNBC reports that the company could see an increase in restaurants’ average order values by 30 percent. Consumers will be asked for their I.D. in the app and when the alcoholic beverages are delivered.
Purchasing alcoholic drinks will be available in 20 states, Canada, Australia, the District of Columbia, and more.
