Doritos has introduced “Doritos Silent” technology to eliminate the loud crunching sounds while gaming.
The technology is aimed at assisting gamers in minimizing crunching noise. The technology, available through Doritos Crunch Cancellation software, identifies and mutes crunching sounds while preserving the gamer’s voice.
According to reports, 30% of U.S. gamers reportedly consider others’ crunching disruptive during gameplay.
Developed with Smooth Technology, lead developer Dylan Fashbaugh described the process as “an incredible journey” of collaboration for the “crunching cancellation” tech.
“We all know that gamers love Doritos, but that unmistakable crunch can often disrupt those intense gaming moments,” said Fashbaugh. “With Doritos Silent, we’ve worked to ensure gamers can enjoy the crunch of Doritos without disturbing their fellow players, making for a better gaming experience.”
In short, Doritos Silent technology filters mic sounds, letting gamers chat without background distractions. The AI-powered feature has been trained on thousands of crunches, enabling a normal chat experience.
