Dr. Dre Donates $10 Million To Compton High School For Performing Arts Center

Rapper and businessman Dr. Dre have donated $10 million to a high school in his hometown of Compton, California.

Dr. Dre is gifting Compton High School $10 million to construct a performing arts center, Yahoo! News reports. The center will provide an educational and creative space for students and could reportedly feature a theater that could seat up to 1,200 people. Dr. Dre announced the news during a ceremony for the project on May 8.

“When I was approached about funding a performing arts center that would provide an arts and technological education to students and be accessible for the community at large, I was all in,” said Young. “I wanted to give the young people of Compton something I never had.”
