Eminem reveals that his longtime feud with Snoop Dogg ended when Dr. Dre suffered a near-fatal brain aneurysm.
On Wednesday, Eminem appeared on his manager Paul Rosenberg’s podcast “Paul Pod: Curtain Call 2.” The rapper explained what caused the beef with Snoop and how it ended.
Eminem says the issue arose after Snoop appeared on his song “Bitch Please II.” Snoop was hoping he could secure a feature from Em in return. However, Rosenberg didn’t immediately agree to the feature, which upset Snoop.
“Me and Snoop had our little issue, and when that thing happened with Dre, the brain aneurysm thing,” he recalled. “We were like, ‘Bro, this is stupid. This is stupid as hell to be feuding right now.’ I don’t remember if I called him or he called me, but we talked it out.”
He continued, “I think that there was a miscommunication at the time in regards to him being on my album, The Marshall Mathers-Bitch Please II.’ I think he had wanted to do something with me and maybe gave you the idea, and you said something to the effect of, ‘Well, let’s hear what the song is first.’ He said the way that he took it was kinda like that I didn’t f*ck with him.”
Em also says that he told Snoop how much of an impact he is to him after reconnecting.
“I’m like, ‘Bro, Doggystyle changed my life,’” he said. “I think that whole thing was just us getting our signals crossed somehow. Because for him to take it, I was like, ‘Bro, how could I not f*ck with you?’ We talked it out and realized how stupid it was to even be feuding at all in the first place.”
Em and Snoop have linked up several times after rekindling their relationship. In February, the two performed together at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. They also took the stage at the VMA’s to perform their new song “From The D 2 The LBC.”
