Dr. Jackie Of “Married To Medicine” Says Her “Cry Wolf” Comments Were Taken Out Of Context

Dr. Jackie of “Married To Medicine” Criticized For Claiming Black Women Cry Wolf During Pregnancy

Dr. Jackie of “Married To Medicine” has issued an apology after a shocking clip resurfaced of her criticizing Black pregnant women.

If you recall, Dr. Jackie’s recent chat with Vice President Kamala Harris about Black maternal mortality rates sparked accusations of hypocrisy. This stems from Dr. Jackie holding a live stream in 2020 with Dr. Heavenly, where she accused some Black expectant mothers of “crying wolf” during their pregnancy to get out of work. Many accused the physician of being a part of the problem in terms of Black women not getting adequate care during their pregnancies. The outrage has forced a response from Dr. Jackie, who feels that the three-year-old livestream was “taken out of context.”

“As a physician, I educate my patients every day to be their own best health advocate. As we continue to face medical mistreatment and gaslighting, my intention with the broader conversation was to ensure patients enter their pregnancies armed with information and tools to effectively communicate their needs with their doctors to ensure a positive outcome,” Dr. Jackie wrote in an Instagram Story post on Thursday.

Dr. Jackie's statement.

This is not the first time that Dr. Jackie has been called out for her comments. She previously was accused of being fatphobic after calling out Dr. Heavenly’s weight when she first joined the cast. Dr. Jackie also called out Miss Georgia Plus, ChaKiva Latrell, for being overweight.

It’s unlikely that Dr. Jackie’s comments will have an effect on her Bravo job, considering that her fellow cast mates also make sketchy remarks on a regular basis. Nevertheless, her fanbase may be looking at her differently.
