The Florida teen who posed as a doctor to defraud his “patients” of their credit card information and forge documents in their name, has finally been sentenced.
Malachi Love-Robinson, now 20-years-old, pleaded guilty to charges of making false statements to obtain credit and of passing a forged document in March. He was sentenced to one year in a Virginia prison on Monday. He’s still facing felony charges in Florida for defrauding patients and practicing medicine without a license.
Robinson had his last run-in with the law when, while out on bail, he traveled to Stafford, Virginia and tried to purchase a $26,000 Lexus from a used car dealer. At first, he inquired about a $35,000 Jaguar but was told the dealer was out of stock. The car dealership became suspicious when he claimed an elderly relative had agreed to co-sign the vehicle. Dealership employees googled Robinson and immediately were tipped off to who he was. The employees told Robinson they’d call him back when his credit got approved, but instead, they called Robinson back to the dealership to be arrested.
Robinson claimed the “elderly relative” was his grandmother and also used her credit cards to purchase a cellphone and two iPads for himself. He was indicted in Virginia in January.
