Drake took home the Top Rap Artist award at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.
This a massive win for Drake, especially with the drama brewing between him and Kendrick this year.
Despite Kendrick’s hard-hitting diss track “Not Like Us,” which clearly made waves, it wasn’t enough to grab the biggest award.
Drake’s For All the Dogs snagged Top Rap Album, defeating major releases like 21 Savage’s, Future and Metro Boomin’s, Nicki Minaj’s, and Rod Wave’s projects, while also beating Lamar and Travis Scott for Top Rap Male Artist.
Kendrick didn’t walk away empty-handed, though. His track “Not Like Us” took home the Top Rap Song honor, and even out-earned Drake’s diss tracks.
“Not Like Us” brought in about $7.6 million, more than double the revenue of Drake’s two diss songs combined, which totaled just under $2 million.
In the end, while Drake may have walked away with the Billboard Music Awards’ top honors, Kendrick Lamar isn’t slowing down.
The rapper’s diss track “Not Like Us” earned him Top Rap Song, and with a performance lined up at the upcoming Super Bowl.
