Drake Bell Admits He Acted “Incredibly Irresponsible” in Actions That Led to Child Endangerment Allegations [Audio]

Drake Bell confronts previous accusations of child endangerment, attributing the incident to miscommunication online. In a candid discussion on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, the former child star offers his perspective for the first time, shedding light on the events surrounding the allegations.

He previously ended his silence by posting a video on Instagram. During the court proceedings, the victim, now 19 years old, testified that Bell had shared explicit photos online with her and participated in sexual activities with her on multiple occasions, including at a concert venue in Cleveland in 2017 and a hotel.

Bell clarifies that while he pleaded guilty to the charges, he maintains he didn’t engage in any actual misconduct. He recounts the situation, explaining that he was communicating online with someone who, unbeknownst to him initially, was underage.

The former childhood star also admitted that he had been “incredibly irresponsible” in responding to direct messages from the teenage girl, which later led to allegations that, according to Bell, were not true.

“I’d responded on some DMs and was incredibly irresponsible, and got myself into conversations that I shouldn’t have had, and I ended up finding out that I was talking to someone that I shouldn’t have been talking to, and it snowballed into these allegations that were not true, and it just turned into this big thing,” Bell explained.

Throughout a thorough investigation, Bell shares that no evidence of inappropriate behavior was found. Despite this, he chose to plead guilty to child endangerment due to the emotional and financial toll the ordeal took on him.

“I did have these conversations and took responsibility for that and ended up pleading guilty, because I just financially was just devastated, and I’d just had a son, and I didn’t wanna put my family through all of this anymore, so I ended up going through the process the way that I did, and you know, very regretful,” he said.

Bell acknowledged his lapse in judgment and admits to getting involved in a situation he should have avoided. However, he stands firm in his assertion that he did not act inappropriately.

The timing of Bell’s discussion aligns with his recent revelation of being a victim of sexual abuse by Brian Peck during his teenage years. This disclosure sheds further light on Bell’s past experiences and the difficulties of his personal journey.
