Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR just dropped $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, and it looks like Drizzy still has a few scores to settle.
From Kendrick Lamar to Joe Budden and even Young Thug’s peace offering, the 6 God isn’t holding back.
On “Gimme a Hug,” Drake seems to take aim at Kendrick without saying his name.
He raps “Drake elimination, fake intimidation / Take a minute, take a deep breath, have a little bit of patience / Drizzy, you amazing, you the inspiration / You set the bar for the next generation…”
Fans also caught a possible shot at Kendrick’s Euphoria cover art when Drake raps about people “using you for promotion” and having girls “twerking with a dictionary.” But just as quickly as he stirred the pot, he downplayed the whole beef: “Fuck a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit.”
The track then switches up, and suddenly Joe Budden catches a stray. “Melyssa Ford, you a legend from the 6, hate to see you with a dick-sucker,” Drake raps, given his history of with Budden.
Then there’s “Brian Steele,” where Drake addresses Young Thug’s recent call for him, Future, and Metro Boomin to squash their issues.
But Drake isn’t interested in making peace. Instead, he’s doubling down, “Broski just hit me, said, ‘Put all the beef on the side,’ I can’t… N-ggas want meet up, talk about shit, I’m vegan now,” he raps, shutting down any talk of reconciliation. “Funny how it’s only bitch n-ggas that are waiting on The Boy’s obituary.”
It’s clear that Drake isn’t in peacemaker mode, he’s making it known that he’s still standing tall despite all the shots thrown his way over the past year.
