Drake Is Unbothered By “Honestly, Nevermind” Criticism

While fans may be dragging Drake by his lace front braids following his latest musical effort, Champagne Papi is unphased by the criticism.

When the Toronto rapper unleashed his 7th studio album, “Honestly, Nevermind,” Friday, people were confused by the project, marked by dance and house beats. While a section of social media appreciated the risk, with many comparing the records to his popular 2017 song, “Passionfruit,” a bulk of his fanbase was disappointed. Obviously, as one of the best lyricists in the game, the masses were expecting an album filled with bars, features, and prolific punchlines. Though this album did not deliver that, with the exception of his final 21 Savage featured track, “Jimmy Cooks,” Drake believes the naysayers are just not yet caught up on the new sound.

“It’s all good if you don’t get it yet,” the “Take Care” star said in a video as one of the new album’s standouts, “Calling My Name,” played in the background. “That’s what we do! We wait for you to catch up. We in here, though. We caught up already. On to the next. My goodness!”

“Honestly, Nevermind” arrives nearly nine months after his “Certified Lover Boy” album. The project landed at number one on the Billboard 200 and secured Drizzy another platinum plaque.

Can “Honestly, Nevermind” push through to garner the same success as his past projects? So far, it has broken Apple Music’s dance album record for the most first-day streams worldwide, so the answer is likely, absolutely.
