Drake and Kai Cenat are about to give out $300,000 on livestream and it’s all going to the fans.
The Grammy-winning rapper and Twitch star were supposed to reveal the 20 winners of the “Somebody Loves Me” video challenge on Wednesday, but it has been delayed a day.
Kai shared on his IG Stories late Tuesday, letting followers know they had to delay the reveal because they needed extra time to go through the entries.
“We were blown away by the creativity and thought poured into each submission,” he said. “We were suppose to go live today but needed a little extra time to review them. Tomorrow DRAKE & I gonna go through some of the submission with you guys, share some of my favorites and some of the not so good ones and let ya’ll know which 20 ppl [are] getting money to bring their treatments to life!”
Each person selected will get $15K to turn their idea into a real visual for the track from Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.
The song won’t have a traditional music video. Instead, it’ll be built entirely from fan submissions, 20 clips stitched into one full visual, directed by the people.
The livestream will include reactions to the best visuals and a few wildcards that didn’t quite land, whether the clip was fire or flop.
Even if your clip made the final cut or not, Drake and Kai are turning the spotlight on real fans with real vision and $300K says they’re serious about letting the culture lead.
