Drake may be on his way to being the first rapper to receive an EGOT. He was just nominated for an Emmy after being an executive producer on Euphoria.
The HBO show starring Zendaya follows the life of a troubled teen and her chaotic friend group navigating the world of high school. Drake was heavily involved in Euphoria’s second season and even appeared at a table read with the cast, where Storm Reid said she was impressed by his involvement.
Another big congrats are to Selena Gomez, who is also up for her first Emmy daytime nomination for Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. Variety reports she’s the first Latina to receive a nomination for a comedy series.
Euphoria premiered its second season in early 2022 and is up for 15 Primetime Emmy and Creative Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Sydney Sweeney.
The Canadian rapper has yet to share his exciting news. Still, he’s had a pretty busy weekend after recovering from COVID and hitting the stage with Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Wayne for a Young Money reunion.
