The plea has since gained over 160,000 signatures, reflecting growing public support for the rapper. Lanez’s legal team claims new evidence suggests he is innocent of the shooting charges involving Megan Thee Stallion. At a recent press conference, Lanez’s lawyers alleged that Kelsey Nicole’s security guard admitted she was the actual shooter, not Lanez. This claim has fueled the campaign for Lanez’s pardon, which supporters hope will catch the attention of California Governor Gavin Newsom.
However, court reporter Meghann Cuniff confirmed that, despite these claims, Lanez’s legal team has not submitted any official court documents to support this new evidence. Meanwhile, Megan’s team has strongly denied the allegations that Nicole was involved in the shooting, maintaining that the “Say It” crooner was responsible.
Here’s “my take” on Tory Lanez:
The amount of violence in our prisons is horrifying.
It is not at all funny what happened, and no he didn’t deserve it.
The claim about new evidence hasn’t been filed in the appellate case. Until it is, it’s not going to factor into anything.

Drake’s involvement adds significant visibility to the petition and the debate surrounding Lanez’s guilt or innocence. Since the beginning of the legal drama, the OVO founder has shown love to Lanez. As the number of signatures continues to grow, many are waiting to see if Governor Newsom will respond to the public outcry and the calls for a pardon.
