Every year, celebs share their frustration about the Grammys and who they feel deserve the awards over others.
Well, Drake wants people to stop being shocked by these awards shows and just accept that what was once the “highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artist.”
“I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards,” the rapper said in his Instagram stories.
The rapper continued, “Just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artist exist now and the ones that come after. It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways. The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way.”
Drake thinks that this is the perfect time for someone to start something new we can continuously build over time and pass on to other generations.
“This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build over time and pass on to the generations to come.”
The rapper ended with artists that were missing from the line-up. “@lilbaby_1 @realpopsmoke @partynextdoor @popcaanmusic too many missing names to even name…”
