During his viral holiday stream with Adin Ross, Drizzy shared that he pitched the concept to the Amazon founder, envisioning a show that would expand on the philanthropic message of his iconic music video.
“This is a thing that I wanted to do ever since I shot that [‘God’s Plan’] video. I asked Jeff Bezos… The word I got back is that he didn’t want to do it,” Drake explained.
Drawing inspiration from the late Anthony Bourdain’s food-themed travel shows, Drake expressed his desire to create a global series.
“Anthony Bourdain was a guy who traveled the world, showed people different spots, took people into places that they would never see,” he said.
The show would feature Drake traveling across the world with billionaires to give away tens of millions of dollars directly to those in need, aiming to put a face to charitable actions. The 38-year-old showcased these efforts in the legendary video, which currently has over one billion views on YouTube. He gave money to several people facing financial hardships, with the cameras rolling to catch their reactions.
“I want to do God’s Plan the TV show, ten episodes a year,” he further explained.
As of now, Bezos has not publicly shared why he declined the TV show.
