Drake Says He “Used To Date SZA” In New Song With 21 Savage And Metro Boomin

At this point, who hasn’t Drake dated? The Canadian-born rapper is featured on one of #MetroBoomin and #21Savage’s new song from the musicians’ album #SavageMode. And on the track, called “Mr. Right Now,” the 33-year-old claims to have dated the now 29-year-old over ten years ago. “Yeah, said she wanna f— to some SZA, wait,” he raps. “‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08,” Drake raps in the song.

Some people spoke out against the alleged former relationship, calling attention to the age dynamic between the two artists at that time. In 2008, Drake would have been either 21 or 22, while SZA would have been 17 or 18.

Regardless of their ages, fans weren’t too happy about Drake throwing out the two’s alleged personal business. “now why’d drake have to bring sza’s good name out like that 😭😭,” someone wrote on Twitter. “Wait stop the music…. Sza and Drake dated in 2008?,” said another user.

Drake has been a supporter of SZA for some time now. After SZA dropped her song with #TyDollaSign, “Hit Different,” the rapper made a post, writing Solana is the chefs kiss;” Solana is SZA’s real name. Complex Media reports the two also share a photo together from back in 2017. After the song dropped, SZA unfollowed Drake. However, he still follows her.

This isn’t the first time Drake has been criticized over his alleged fondness of younger women. A clip from an incident involving Drake and a teenage girl resurfaced on Twitter in January 2019. In the video, Drake says to a fan. “I get in trouble for s— like this. How old are you?” Drake asks. The fan replies, saying that she is 17. Drake then says, “I had fun, I don’t know if I should feel guilty or not, but I had fun. I like the way your breasts feel against my chest. I just want to thank you.”
