Hip-hop is constantly evolving and when it comes to rap, the topic of discussion is always about who rhymes the best and who has the slickest flow. Well as of lately, two rap heavy hitters, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, have been trading shots at each other for a while now. However, it seems as though it battle is over.
On Saturday, Drake shared a photo on his Instagram Stories depicting a Japanese samurai confronting a massive army, seemingly referring to the “20 vs 1” he mentioned in his “Push Ups” diss track.
“Good times. Summer vibes up next,” Drake wrote alongside the picture.
The post quickly sparked speculations of Drake gracefully stepping down from the fight with Kendrick. In addition, Drake previously hinted at the outcome of the feud by sharing a clip from the Netflix series “A Man in Full.” The scene shows actor Jeff Daniels saying, “I don’t mean this as a criticism. Maybe I do. But when you die, will people notice? When I go, there are gonna be a lot of memories of me by a lot of people, many who hate me. Even so, a person needs to live with vigor. Otherwise, what’s the point?”
Drake’s cryptic post also comes just a day after Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, CEO of Kendrick’s former label Top Dawg Entertainment, declared that the battle was over. On Friday, Tiffith went to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express the end of the rivalry.
“This battle is over. A win for the culture, while keeping it all on wax,” Tiffith wrote. “Especially when these publications try to make it something else. We proved them wrong. That’s a victory within itself. On another note, it’s time to wrap up this TDE 20yr anniversary compilation.”

As of now, the end of the beef is still in question, and it remains unclear if Kendrick actually confirmed this with Tiffith. But as the dust settles, fans can only speculate what the future will hold for Kendrick and Drake. Will Drake’s post lead to a possible collaboration with Kendrick, or will this be an ongoing feud between the two heavyweights?
