Drake shut down reports that he took a 14-minute private flight from Toronto to Hamilton earlier this month.
The news of the pricey minutes-long flight was revealed by watchdog platform @CelebJets. The account, which has over 80,000 followers on Twitter, tracks the movement and travel of private celebrity jets. Many follow the page to keep up with the wasteful ways that the world’s wealthy utilize personal air travel despite its harmful environmental effects.Â
On Friday, @CelebJets tweeted, “Drake’s Jet Landed in Hamilton, Ontario, CA,” adding that the flight time was 14 minutes and used 2,694 pounds of jet fuel, four tons of CO2 emissions and $2,729 worth of fuel.Â

Twitter users immediately began sharing the tweet, slamming the “Hotline Bling” rapper for his perceived disregard for climate protection.Â
As the viral tweet made its way across social media, @RealTorontoNewz shared the story on their Instagram page. That is when Drizzy decided it was time to put the rumors of his irresponsible travel habits to bed.
“This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at for anyone who was interested in the logistics…nobody takes that flight,” he wrote in the comment section.Â

@CelebJets has not responded to Drake’s explanation, nor have they revealed exactly why they thought he was onboard the flight.
Other celebs such as Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have faced criticism for their use of private flights knowing the environmental retributions. Nevertheless, this has not stopped the rich and famous from chartering a jet or even buying one to get from point A to point B.
