Apparently Drake is tired of Jay Z being rich. Earlier this year Drake had an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine where he mentions that Jay Z always raps about his lavish lifestyle. From trips in private jet and exclusive watches to his expensive clothes and love of art.
“Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references!” he said. “I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
Jay Z hit the booth, going in over the “We Made It” instrumental, to respond to quickly respond to Drake. “Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk/Silly me rapping ’bout shit that I really bought.”
Over the weekend Drake took yet ANOTHER stab at Jay Z, while being interviewed at the Raptors/Nets playoff game this past Saturday. “It’s a red-hot revival in here tonight,” Drake said during the interview. “It’s electric. It’s the uprising, man. KG is frustrated, the young boys are out tonight. Who knows? You know, this is the people’s team, the Toronto Raptors. Jay Z is somewhere eating a fondue plate.”
Note, Jay Z wasn’t eating a fondue plate but he was indeed somewhere with Beyonce and that alone is an accomplishment.
Frankly, Jay Z isn’t the only rapper that raps about nice things. He’s one of the few I think can really afford it, though. Drake has also rapped about some of the rings he possesses, but it’s overshadowed by his raps about strippers that broke his heart. Drake isn’t poverty stricken himself so the “you’re rich” jokes are kind of bleh…
Never Forget.
