Drake’s Former Manager Sentenced To 8 Months In Prison For $600K Tax Evasion

Drake’s former manager, Derrick Lawrence, has been sentenced to eight months in prison for tax evasion.  The Aspire Music Group co-founder pleaded guilty to not filing personal tax returns from 2009 to 2011.  His entire debt still owed to the federal government is $600,000.

He had this to say about the conviction, “It was never a disrespect to the government. It was a lack of knowledge… It’s my fault for not following up with my accountants who I hired.”

According to reports, Lawrence made $2.2 million during the time he didn’t file taxes, but his lawyer, Stacey Richman, says he’s “good for the money because he’s always able to find work.”
