A heart-stopping video of a woman being rescued from a dangling semi-truck was shown in a Kentucky courtroom, capturing the dramatic moments after a crash on the Clark Memorial Bridge in Louisville.
The video shows a pickup truck swerving out of its lane to avoid a stalled car before slamming into a semi-truck, causing it to careen into and precariously dangle over the bridge. The footage, used as evidence in court, reveals the harrowing scene as the semi-truck hangs 100 feet above the water, its hood broken off.
Sydney Thomas, the 26-year-old truck driver, was seen holding onto the wheel as her semi-truck dangled over the bridge. Louisville firefighters took nearly an hour to hoist Thomas to safety, earning praise for their daring technical rescue.
The driver of the swerving pickup, 33-year-old Trevor Branham, faces several charges, including driving with a suspended license. Branham was in court on Wednesday and has not yet entered a plea.
