Draymond Green Suspended Five Games For Rudy Gobert Chokehold

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors has been suspended for five games after his actions during the Minnesota Timberwolves game on Tuesday.

Green’s teammate Klay Thompson and Timberwolves players Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels have each been fined $25,000 for their roles in the incident on Tuesday night’s games.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced the five suspension on X, formerly Twitter, along with Green losing $769,970.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated that he felt Green was taking up for his teammate.

“There is no way Klay should have been ejected. That was ridiculous,” Kerr said. “I was upset about that. As far as the Draymond piece of it, Rudy had his hands on Klay’s neck. That’s why Draymond went after Rudy.”

Green was also ejected November 11 during Cavalier’s game after receiving a second technical foul for pushing Cavs guard Donovan Mitchell.
