Draymond Green to Be Fined, Not Suspended For Altercation

Draymond Green To Be Fined But Not Suspended For Altercation With Jordan Poole; Will Play Friday

The NBA has determined that Draymond Green will be fined and not suspended after he violently punched a teammate last week.

According to Coach Steve Kerr, Green will return to practice on Thursday, hit the court for the defending NBA champs on Friday night, and play again in the season opener against the Lakers on Tuesday.

Green and Jordan Poole have seemingly settled their differences after Kerr, general manager Bob Myers and the other players met to decide how to best proceed.

“We feel like we have a great feel for our team. We’ve got a lot of continuity on this team, so Bob and I know our players extremely well,” Kerr said. “We feel like this is the best way after assessing everything for us to move forward. It’s never easy, no matter what decision you make in a situation like this. It’s not going to be perfect. This is the biggest crisis that we’ve ever had since I’ve been coach here. It’s really serious stuff.”

However, since the incident last Wednesday, Green and Poole have spoken extensively with each other about the altercation, according to Kerr.
“We’re not perfect. … But we’re going to lean on the experience that we have together and trust that this is the best decision for our team. We have a lot of work to do. All of us,” Kerr added.
