‘Drink Champs’ host N.O.R.E. explains his comments about Will Smith, which were mentioned in Chris Rock’s recent comedy special, Selective Outrage.
Earlier this week, a preview of an upcoming episode was released by the host, which featured Joe Budden and his co-host DJ EFN. In the clip, the trio talked about Rock’s allegations that the hosts referred to Smith as a derogatory term.
“You called Will Smith a b*tch?” N.O.R.E. asked EFN. “No, man! That was you! Nah, nah. Nobody here called him a b*tch,” he replied.
N.O.R.E then asked Joe Budden the same question which he also denied.
“No, it certainly wasn’t me. I don’t agree with anything he did, but I’m not calling another man a b*tch. I’m not going to do that, but Chris Rock said y’all did that, Drink Champs,” Budden responded.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch Rock’s new special, the comedian spoke on his slapping incident with Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars. During the stand-up, Rock claimed a few podcasts criticized Smith after he discussed his marriage with Jada Pinkett-Smith on her ‘Red Table Talk’ series.
“Everybody in the world called him a b*tch. I tried to call the motherf*cker. I tried to call that man and give him my condolences. He didn’t pick up for me,” Rock said. “Everybody called him a b*tch and who does he hit? Me.”
Nevertheless, EFN thanked Rock for mentioning their podcast.
“I love the way he named us, because he put us in the rapper category,” the host said. “Let’s make some noise for Chris Rock, God damn it!”
