Police in Florida have taken down a drug-trafficking ring that a former correctional officer allegedly operated.
Several law enforcement agencies started an investigation into a large drug trafficking ring back in March 2021. The probe led to the arrest of 44-year-old Christina Guess of Volusia County, who previously served as a prison guard at the Florida Department of Corrections. According to Fox News, Guess was the leader behind the organization.
Guess and her drug trafficking team reportedly shipped kilograms of meth every month. Police believe the group sold up to 24 pounds of uncut methamphetamine over the last year.
Other members of the drug ring were charged with several charges including alleged involvement in the organization, including narcotics violations, firearms/weapons violations, and violent crimes against persons, Fox News reports.
