Duane "Keefe D" Davis Found Guilty in Jailhouse Fight While Awaiting Trial in Tupac Shakur Murder Case

Duane “Keefe D” Davis has been found guilty in connection with a fight at the detention center where he’s being held for his alleged role in Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder. On Wednesday, a grand jury convicted Davis of battery by a prisoner and issued challenges to fight after a December brawl with another inmate, KTNV reports. He’s set to be sentenced on May 27th.

Footage from the altercation shows Davis walking with an officer when another inmate suddenly swung at him. The two ended up on the floor, exchanging punches as the officer attempted to break it up, appearing to spray them before backup arrived.

Davis told officers he was “standing his ground” but offered no further details about the scuffle. The 61-year-old, indicted in September 2023 for Tupac’s murder, has continued to assert his innocence.

In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Davis said, “They ain’t got no evidence. They don’t got nothing. They know they don’t have nothing…They can’t even place me out here [at the time of shooting]. They don’t have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing. Everybody on video but Keefe D. This is wrong, man.”

Reflecting on his previous public comments about the case, he added, “I shouldn’t have said nothing. And I’m innocent, man. And God got my back and God will see me through this.”
