Before their home opener in Miami on Tuesday, Dwyane Wade and the rest of the Miami Heat celebrated their 2012-2013 NBA title by receiving their championship rings.
That same day, Gabrielle Union celebrated her 41st with friends Hyde Lounge in the American Airlines Arena, where Wade stopped by to drop off her birthday gift, in form of a small jewelry box, before catching his flight to Philadelphia.
According to Page Six, Wade reportedly “walked in with a gift-wrapped box, opened it with her and put it on her finger.” The ring, however, was not an engagement ring but her own NBA championship ring. Gabby snapped a pic with her new bling, which you can see below.
Now, a lot people have opposing views about this gesture, saying that there definitely should have been an engagement ring in that box, and the NBA ring was a cop out on his part. On the other side, the two are have been going through some legal battles with divorces and what not, so naturally the couple is in no rush to get married and they should not be.
I don’t know what their personal situation is but I think Gabby is definitely looking forward to a ring of a different kind. That’s not saying that she should be pressing for a ring per se, but the two have been an item for awhile and she is 41, so I can only assume marriage is something she may be interested in.
