It was previously reported that Basketball Wives LA would be ditching a majority of their cast in their upcoming season. Everyone besides Shaunie O’Neal, Tami Roman and Jackie Christie were not invited back. Evelyn Lozada has officially announced that she too will be joining the Los Angeles cast, but it’s the two newest members that have everyone talking.
Aja Metoyer and Keonna Green will be joining the cast of BBWLA, according to sources. If you’re not familiar with who they are, let’s take a trip down memory lane.
Aja Metoyer is the mother of Dwyane Wade’s youngest son, Xavier Zachariah Wade, born on November 10, 2013. This is the child Dwyane Wade conceived while he was reportedly on a break from then-girlfriend, Gabrielle Union. Gabby and DWade worked through their problems, obviously, and ended up getting married and living happily ever after. Could whatever Aja has to say on Basketball Wives put a damper on Gabby and Dwyane’s happiness? Likely not. Just last year Aja referred to Wade as a “wonderful father” who takes very good care of their son. It seems like Dwyane and Aja are parenting on a good note, so whatever she says on national television won’t make him look bad. This would probably explain why he didn’t choose to take the Chris Bosh route.
Keonna Green has a bit of an interesting story, herself. Keonna is the mother of Nick Young’s children, the most recent being conceived while Nick was engaged to Aussie rapper, Iggy Azalea. In fact, Keonna got pregnant with Nick’s first child while he was engaged to someone else as well. Contrary to Aja, lots of tea can probably be spilled surrounding Keonna and Nick. You may recall, Keonna was Nick’s longtime girlfriend and she has even accused Iggy of stealing Nick away from her. She once called Iggy on the phone and told Iggy to stay away, but as you can see, that didn’t help much. Now, despite Keonna giving Nick two children, he’s dating a totally different girl. It will be very interesting to hear Keonna’s side of events as she explains life as always the Baby Mama and never the Bride.
A part of me wonders why Dwyane Wade and Nick Young didn’t do what Dwight Howard and Chris Bosh did (put their lawyers on the case). I can only assume that they are comfortable enough to know that their baby mama’s won’t go too hard on them. Maybe, unlike others, they’re in a good space with their exes.
Will you be tuning in to Basketball Wives LA while sipping your tea next season?
