As suspected, the situation between Keshia Knight-Pulliam and Ed Hartwell has become very interesting to say the least.
The former couple has spent the week pointing fingers at one another, starting with Hartwell’s initial request for a paternity test, which suggested Pulliam stepped out on her husband. However, the actress shot down those allegations and turned the blame on Hartwell, claiming he was the one who cheated.
The blame game didn’t end there though. Hartwell recently spoke with #PageSix to reveal the real reason for the couple’s quick split.
According to Hartwell, the marriage fell apart after just two months due to jealousy, disagreements and suspicions about infidelity on both sides. Which makes sense, since Pulliam revealed on Wednesday that Hartwell cheated on her early on in their marriage, but she gave him another chance. However, Hartwell refuted the accusations and claimed she stretched the truth to make herself look better.
Hartwell went on to explain the reason behind the paternity test request. Apparently, a lot of their marital issues stemmed from their disagreements about starting a family. Pulliam wanted to have a baby so bad, while Hartwell felt they should wait and focus on one another since they wed so quickly. According to the former NFL linebacker, when the marriage took a turn for the worse, the intimacy came to an end, but Pulliam was determined to have a baby so he believes she went behind his back to do it.
The interview continued and Hartwell revealed that during an in-depth conversation with his wife in February, he asked her if she was in love with him. She responded with same question and he said that he wasn’t sure. In addition, he confessed that his ex, whom he dated for four years, had “lost a baby” and it made him realize he still cared about her. The revelation upset the actress and caused her to “disappear from his life,” Page Six reports.
“[Knight Pulliam] wasn’t mad that I still cared about her,” he said. “All she was mad about was, ‘You don’t want to have a baby, but you’re mad about her baby. You can’t talk to her 13-year-old daughter. And there was a big fall out.”
The argument made the athlete realize Knight-Pulliam wanted to have a child, by any means necessary. But, when things didn’t add up for him, he had to ask for a paternity test.
“I can’t say she’s been unfaithful. I can say she’s stayed out, she’s not come home, she’s went out of town…for three days, I don’t know what’s going on. I can say that,” he said. “I can’t say she was unfaithful. I can say she wanted to get in vitro, I can say she wanted to do some things to make sure she got pregnant. I just want to make sure it is mine. If it’s mine, I’ma love it to death.”
