Eddie Murphy has agreed to pay ex-girlfriend Mel B an additional $10,000 a month in child support for their 15-year-old daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown.
The actor will now be on the hook for $35,000 a month. The former Spice Girl filed paperwork two years ago asking for more support, citing a decrease in income.
“Until recently, Melanie has been fortunate in her career to sustain a comfortable lifestyle for herself and Angel,” according to the filing.
The two dated briefly in 2006, resulting in the birth of their daughter. After settling a bitter paternity battle in 2009, Murphy began paying $25,000 monthly in support.
The new agreement, which refers to the actor as the “extraordinarily high earner,” took effect Aug. 17, is retroactive from last October, and will go through Angel’s 18th birthday.
In addition, to support, Murphy is to cover Mel B’s $10,000 attorney fees. Brown, however, will be responsible for “add-ons,” such as health insurance, health care, educational expenses, and extracurricular activities.
“Child support shall be payable via wire transfer and shall be due on the first calendar day of each month,” the filing states.
