As Eddie Murphy gears up to make his return to “Saturday Night Live,” and comedy in general- the comedian wants his die-hard fans to know he’s never given up on his love of making music. Even if the fans never get to hear any of it.
According to Page Six, Murphy appeared as a guest on the Krista Smith show “Present Company,” a podcast for Netflix, and talked about his love of comedy and music.
The iconic comedian revealed that his fans might be shocked to hear that he never stopped creating musically.
“A hundred years from now, when I’m gone, they’ll find all these tracks, and they’ll be like, ‘Wow, we didn’t even know this guy. We had no idea,’” he said.
Murphy also added, “Whatever muscle I use to be funny … I have a muscle to do music, and I use them both all the time … I’ve never stopped doing music.” But, “I stopped putting it out though, because … the audience gets weirded out by it. And I don’t want to be that guy,” he said.
Murphy, the father of 10, is out promoting his upcoming Netflix movie “Dolemite Is My Name,” a biopic about Rudy Ray Moore which is due out this fall.
