El Chapo’s Wife Emma Coronel Aispuro Set To Cooperate In Exchange For Witness Protection

According to law enforcement sources, El Chapo’s wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, is prepared to spill cartel secrets in exchange for a new life in the witness protection program.

“She’s definitely cooperating,” a source told The New York Post. Her incarcerated husband, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, allegedly encourages her to snitch as an act of revenge on those who have crossed him.

If she does serve up the Sinaloa cartel’s leaders, it would include her stepsons Ovidio Guzman Lopez, 30, and Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, 37, Alfredo Guzman Salazar, 34, and Joaquin Guzman Lopez, age unknown. In their father’s absence, they are reportedly running the cartel.

After being arrested last week on drug trafficking charges, she faces more than ten years in prison. If she cooperates, she could avoid jail time and instead start a brand new life with her 9-year-old twin daughters Emali Guadalupe and Maria Joaquina.

Coronel Aispuro has denied any knowledge of her husband’s illegal activities. But according to an FBI agent, she was fully aware of “multi-ton cocaine shipments, multi-kilo heroin production, multi-ton marijuana shipments, and ton-quantity methamphetamine shipments.” Court papers allege that she would visit her husband in Mexican prisons and then relay messages on his behalf.

Coronel Aispuro was born near San Francisco but raised in Mexico. Her father and brother were drug traffickers, so she has been around that type of lifestyle most of her life. When she married El Chapo, he made her father and brother top lieutenants within his cartel.
