About 20 minutes before the El Paso mass shooting, a rant was posted to a message board responding to an “invasion” of Hispanics at the southern border, according to AP News.
The rant was titled ”The Inconvenient Truth” and talked about how Hispanics will eventually take over the government as well as the economy. The writer also mentioned that attacking “low-security” targets was a way to “fight to reclaim my country from destruction.”
Investigators believe that these are the words of 21-year-old suspect Patrick Crusius, who surrendered after murdering about 20 people and injuring more than two dozen others.
The writer of the disturbing rant continued by mentioning they have an AK-47-style semi-automatic rifle, debating what firearm would be better to use for killing as many people as possible.
The document used a lot of Trump’s words, like Hispanic migrants are ”invaders,” also mentioning to “send them back.”
Investigators are looking very closely at the writing to decide whether to prosecute the mass shooting as a hate crime.
