Home Health Aide Charged in Connection to Death of Elderly Man Found With ‘I Touch Little Girls’ Written on Chest

Police in Staten Island found an elderly man dead in his home with the phrase “I touch little girls” written across his chest, and now a mother has been arrested and charged.

On Nov. 12, 28-year-old Rene Ayarde was arrested in New Jersey, and she’s now being charged with murder, manslaughter and assault in connection to the death of 80-year-old Robert Raynor. Ayarde used to work for Raynor as his home health aide. His body was found in the hallway of his building on July 19.

When Raynor’s body was found, “I touch little girls,” was seen in black marker on his chest. “I touch” was seen written on his feet, and “I take dolls in my room for girls age 1-5” was reportedly written out on his stomach. According to the Chief Medical Examiner, his death was ruled as a homicide; he died reportedly from blunt trauma to his head and torso.

The woman was also charged with child abuse. According to reports, after police found Raynor, Ayarde allegedly beat her 3-year-old daughter; it wasn’t until Monday that authorities began speculating that she was involved in the murder. Police say the child had injuries on her face and knees. A witness claims they saw Ayarde “pick up a young child and drop the child to the concrete” and “throw a full water bottle at the child’s face.” The child told officers that her mother “threw” “her on the floor.”

Newsweek reports that Raynor has never had a history of any sex crimes and he is not a registered sex offender.
