An elderly woman was carjacked while handing out meals to the homeless in Los Angeles.
CBS News reports the incident took place on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m. when a thief ran up on an 81-year-old woman who was giving out meals to the homeless in the parking lot of a supermarket.
The entire incident was captured on surveillance footage. The news outlet reports that the suspect used force to rob the woman of her keys and then struggled to try to get into her vehicle from the driver’s side.
Some people who were nearby tried to stop the thief, but they managed to make off with her car, which has been identified as a 2015 KIA Sportage. The woman was knocked down in the midst of the suspect trying to make an escape.
No suspects have been identified, but police say the car was last seen cruising on an area freeway.
